West Stockbridge Select Board Votes to Post All Meeting Videos Online
WEST STOCKBRIDGE — July 10, 2023 — West Stockbridge Select Board posts meeting videos online and opens Affordable Housing Trust applications. The board voted unanimously at its July 10 meeting to proactively publish video recordings of all town board meetings on the town website, ending the requirement that residents file formal public records requests. Member Tobias Casey, who proposed the change, argued that the recordings are already public records and that routine online posting reduces bureaucratic burden. The board also unanimously authorized Town Administrator Marie to solicit letters of interest for Affordable Housing Trust trustee positions, advertising in the local paper ahead of a July 15 deadline, following the trust's passage at annual town meeting and approval by the Massachusetts Attorney General. Dutch Pinkston, acting chair of the Zoning Board of Appeals, appeared during public comment to request Select Board funding for an independent sound engineer in two pending noise-violation appeals involving a business called the Foundry — with a formal cost estimate and vote expected at the July 24 meeting.
